Successful 2024 balance: VerenA recycles more than 360 tonnes of packaging

2025 collection campaign in full swing

The VerenA system can look back on an exceptionally successful year in 2024: a total of 480.58 tonnes of emptied, used agricultural packaging were collected – a new milestone for the still young take-back scheme. 75% of the collected material was recycled, resulting in savings of an impressive 335 tonnes of CO₂ emissions. In other words: the equivalent binding capacity of 24,164 trees – a strong signal for climate action in agriculture.

2025: Campaign with strong growth potential

This year, too, the VerenA system is continuing its success story: the 2025 collection campaign is in full swing – and demand from the agricultural sector is once again exceeding expectations. Early projections already suggest that the 500-tonne mark could be surpassed this year. System Manager Jens Dambeck is optimistic: “Participation is outstanding. We are seeing steadily increasing willingness to return packaging and a high level of responsibility across the sector.”

More collection points, more take-back options

One key success factor is the growing infrastructure. With over 270 collection points across Germany, the VerenA system has significantly expanded its network compared with 2023, when there were around 200 locations. The result: shorter travel distances, easier returns, and higher participation.

New in 2025 is the expansion of accepted fractions: in addition to the familiar big bags, paper and film packaging as well as transport packaging from agriculture are now also being collected – free of charge and hassle-free for businesses using licensed products. This makes returns even more attractive while increasing the ecological benefit of the system.

Sustainability with a system – acceptance growing

Dambeck adds: “The steadily increasing return volumes show that the VerenA system has become firmly established in the industry. Farmers are actively shaping a more sustainable future – and we are supporting them with an efficient and user-friendly take-back scheme.”

Join now – closing the loop

The VerenA 2025 collection campaign runs until early December. Farmers and distributors are invited to return their VerenA-licensed packaging – actively contributing to circular economy and resource conservation.
