Enhanced Controls at VerenA Collection Points in 2026 – Fairness and Sustainability in Focus

With the start of the 2026 collection season, the VerenA SYSTEM continues to rely on clear rules and reliable organisation. Fairness, transparency and sustainability remain the key guiding principles of the take-back system.

More and more agricultural businesses are using VerenA’s service to dispose of used and completely emptied packaging. Collection volumes have increased steadily in recent years – a clear indication that the system is well accepted in practice and has become firmly established. At the same time, this growth increases the need for clear procedures and fair participation by all stakeholders.

New season, clear rules: controls to be expanded

At the beginning of the 2026 collection season, VerenA announced enhanced controls at collection points. The aim is to ensure that the take-back system continues to operate in a fair, efficient and economically sustainable manner. In future, stricter checks will be carried out to confirm that only authorised participants deliver properly licensed packaging. Packaging without the VerenA SYSTEM logo is not part of the scheme and will be rejected during these checks.

These measures are intended to prevent unauthorised use and ensure that both the costs and benefits of the system are shared fairly among all participants. A well-functioning take-back system relies on clear rules and the commitment of everyone involved to comply with them.

Strong network, continuous development

With more than 280 collection points across Germany, the VerenA SYSTEM, launched in 2023, is now firmly established within the agricultural sector. The expanded controls represent a further step towards maintaining the quality of the collection process and ensuring the system remains reliable even as volumes continue to grow.

Information for farms and trade partners

Agricultural businesses and retailers are invited to return their VerenA-licensed packaging in 2026 and thereby contribute to the circular economy. VerenA recommends checking that packaging is correctly labelled before delivery and contacting the organisation in advance if any questions arise.
